Three new models mark the rebirth of the groundbreaking digital piano range

Yamaha has revealed a new three-strong range of CP pianos (CP1, CP5 and CP50) at the winter NAMM show.

The new series is headed up by the state-of-the-art CP1, an instrument that Yamaha describes as “the ultimate digital piano”.

The new CP models feature the SCM tone generation system to deliver expressive tone, with a newly developed NW-Stage wooden keyboard that offers matched tone and touch characteristics. This is complemented by a all-embracing editing control, capable of creating totally original piano sounds, and convenient master keyboard functions.

The introduction, over 30 years ago, of Yamaha’s groundbreaking CP70 and CP80 stage pianos revolutionised creative performance options for gigging pianists and tour managers. The re-birth of the series is certain to cause something of a stir among players.

The CP1 will be available this month at a retail price of £4,502, while the CP5 and CP50 will be available from March at retail prices yet to be confirmed.
